We are very lucky that Kyle works with people that he likes and that we are friends with. So there was a group of us that all went down together and all extended together. We were lucky to spend the week with the Fountaines our good friends and make more friends with some of the other couples.
It may look like we didn't do a whole lot, because we didn't. We really wanted to just relax and not have a schedule or plan and take it easy. We spent most of our time at the pool or the beach, swimming, reading and catching some sun. Oh and drinking delicious drinks by the pool!
We went into town the 2nd night that we were there. We had a hard time deciding where to eat but finally settled on a steak place. Kyle of course was brave enough and tried the fried octopus as an appetizer. I tried a tiny piece as well after a lot of coaxing. After dinner we just walked around the shops and did a little shopping. We also played water volleyball and beach volleyball. I warned everyone before hand that I am crazy athletic, I don't think they all believed me until they saw me in the water. After that they didn't make me play with them. But they had a lot of fun playing and I had lots of fun sitting on the beach and watching.

We also took a second trip into town. When we left our hotel it was overcast, by the time we got into town it was a down pour and there were rivers in the streets. Luckily Mo ran the 6 blocks to walmart to buy us all umbrellas. They weren't the best umbrellas in the world but kept most of us somewhat dry. We did a little shopping and then decided to take advantage of the crazy cheap massages! I was a little leery of it, but it was heavenly! We grabbed some lunch and did a little more shopping before heading back to the resort.
Some of my favorite highlights from the first half of the trip were:
-The amazing activities staff they had, they always had something fun going on. We enjoyed water aerobics most mornings. One evening we did Karaoke, one of the best nights there by far! We also did a morning of stretching on the beach and I have NEVER felt so relaxed in my life.
-The amazing beach, it was a beautiful beach and the sand was so soft. We went out in the water a couple of times but it was pretty rocky.
-The pool was amazing! It was so huge and had so many different areas. I was so wishing the kids were there just for the pool, they would have absolutely loved it!
Our first resort had an amazing crepe place right on the property. We went there just about once a day, it was so yummy. Towards the end of the trip we switched resorts to go to the one that was provided by Cintas. It was a crazy nice resort! The rooms were amazing and it was a really beautiful resort. Oh and all the food and drinks were free here! Yes we ate and drank as much as we could in the short amount of time!Last day of our trip, we spent it at the beach, at the pool and just lounging around. It was wonderful! Plus we also had some super fun crazies from Cintas to people watch!
We had an AMAZING trip! It was so much fun, so relaxing and just what we needed! I enjoyed having the time to just be with Kyle. With life as crazy as it is at home I feel like we barely get 10 minutes to be with just us. I really enjoyed going on the trip with friends and making new friends. It was fun to have some other girls there to just talk with.
We are SUPER grateful to both of our parents for helping with our kids. We could NOT have done it without their help. The Ford's watched McKay and he did great while we were gone. The only minor incident was him getting Pink eye, but of course Kelli handled it all like a champ!
My parents watched Carson and Brynn for most of the time and took them to do so many fun things. They went down to their house and did all of the fun activities that are there and then they also took them camping! The kids loved camping, staying in a trailer and catching a fish. They didn't stop talking about staying in the trailer with Grandma and Grandpa.
It was a fabulous vacation and we really hope we can go back again next year!
