It is nice living in Utah and having two holidays to celebrate in the month of July! I love it! We went on the 23rd of July with my sister Tresa, her kids, and my mom to Sandy to go to the South Town convention center to preview all of the floats for the 24th of July parade that was the next day. It was really fun seeing all of the floats up close and the kids loved picking their favorites.
On the afternoon of the 24th while McKay was napping we hauled the whole family outside to do our "Y" from our ABC summer list. We played yard games outside. It was crazy hot, but we had a lot of fun and the kids loved it. We had a game of croquet in the the front first, and then we played another game in the back. I always forget how competitive the Ford's are when it comes to yard games. SUPER competitive with each other, there is no rule bending or breaking either.
After McKay woke up we headed over to our old neighborhood where our friends the Fountaines had invited us over for a BBQ.
They had a giant water slide set up for all of the kids and the adults ate and visited. It was a lot of fun. The kids loved being back in the neighborhood and spending the whole afternoon and evening with their friends.
After dinner we got out all of the fireworks everyone had brought. The kids did a bunch of sparklers and filled the cul-de-sac with smoke.
I sat in the car with McKay and watched the fireworks, the I pad had died and it was late and he was getting pretty over stimulated. He enjoyed being in the car much more.
I secretly want these two to get married!!!
The Fountaines put on a fabulous BBQ and we had so much fun visiting with old friend and having a great night!
