Not many people know about Grandparents day, but for the last 4 years we have had an annual Grandparents day dinner. My kids Grandparents are
absolutely amazing! I feel it is the least we could do to have a dinner to celebrate them!

We made these cute place cards. The kids each picked one thing that was their favorite thing to do with each Grandma or Grandpa.

Each year I have the kids help me make a homemade gift. It is usually nothing very fancy. But it has to be something the kids made or helped with a lot. This year we made birdhouses. I put them together and the kids helped me use the wood glue. Then Carson took one and
Brynnley took one and they each painted them. They were so excited to paint them and were so proud of them when we were done (McKay will get his chance next year to participate.) My kids have really been into birds this year so I thought a birdhouse for Grandma and Grandpa's house would be perfect!

We had a yummy dinner of grilled flank steak and Kyle's famous chicken (it is so mouthwatering delicious!) Loaded mashed potatoes, watermelon and salad. We also had fresh peach crisp with homemade vanilla ice cream. It was pretty tasty!
My kids ADORE (adore is an understatement) their Grandparents. They get so excited to call them on the phone, talk to them on
Skype, or LOVE when they come over. This last year it truly has been a blessing to have extra help in the form of Grandparents.

It was very challenging not having my parents here the
beginning of the year. But they were constantly doing whatever they could to help from Africa. I know it was hard for them to not be here either, when they could tell we needed so much help. We felt their love and prayers from Africa. Now that they are home we have kept them very busy with helping with the kids, visiting their house, and just squeezing in some fun time as well. It is so nice to have them home and we can't wait to do lots and lots more with them.
For a few months I am pretty sure the Ford's felt like they we raising two young kids again. They stepped in at a moments notice, never complained and continually asked what they could do to help. They will drop just about anything if it involves their Grandkids. They love the kids and will do absolutely anything for them. They truly are the example of "worlds best Grandparents!"

We are truly blessed to have both sets of Grandparents only with in a few hours. Kyle and I love having the Grandparents so close, plus we always seem to have a babysitter. We
appreciate everything they do for our kids and for us. They truly are amazing people, we look up to them and we love them!

What a fabulous idea! You are so thoughtful. That dinner sounds so good. I'm so glad Mckay's surgery went well. I'm also happy for you that October is looking a little slower! You need that! Good luck with the insurance. What a hassle!
Not many grandparents get to celebrate Grandparent's Day, let alone celebrate in fine fashion. What a fun time we had together! We love the birdhouse and are looking for just the right spot to put it so we can watch the birds from our window! Thank you to all of you for making us feel so loved and so special! How we love being grandparents!
