But because of that we also have been trying to squeeze in a few more doctor's appointments this month. We decided to go ahead and have McKay's tongue surgery done while we knew it would be covered and paid for. After a very unsuccessful try at the Central Utah Clinic (The anesthesiologist wouldn't do it because he felt he was too high risk and needed to be where there was PICU) we finally were able to get it done at Utah Valley. Back to our home away from home! The surgery went really well, the doctor took him in they gased him up and he did a quick clip at the base of his tongue. He woke up pretty mad, swollen and cranky. But I think it is hopefully going to make a big difference once it heals and the swelling goes down.
While we were there we decided to go back up to the NICU and say hi to some Doctor's and nurses. Sadly the doctor we went to go see was not there. But we saw a few of the other doctor's who all remembered us and wanted the update. Lucky enough our favorite nurse was there too! I was so excited to see her and for her to see McKay. It was fun catching up and everyone was so happy we had stopped by.
McKay has one more doctor's appointment this month. October looks pretty slow but November is already VERY fully of doctor's and specialist appointments. So we are going to try and enjoy the next few weeks, hopefully they go by at a little bit slower pace!

Love the picture of McKay! We are very hopeful that the surgery will help him. We're still praying that you'll be able to get insurance. Just take one day at a time, as usual . . .
