We started out the morning with our usual measuring to see how big the kids are a year later. McKay wasn't quite sure what was going on.
We were not able to have a big family/friend party again this year. We just didn't feel good about having that many people around McKay and bringing all the germs in. So we had just us and Kyle's parents for our party. We started the night with one of McKay's favorite foods Pizza. Yes, a real actual food that is not baby food that he loves!
We opened all of the presents, which he loved! He got a Laugh and learn puppy from Grandma and Grandpa Randall. He loves it, he really is into dogs right now and says "woof" all the time.
We got him a giant car to hold cars, a safari truck, and a couple of other small things.
His big gift was his sweet new ride from Grandma and Grandpa Ford. I found a bike that is a 3 stage bike, however the first stage allows you to strap them in with a 5 point harness. So he is strapped in and we are able to push him. I am not sure he will get to the stage where he can pedal himself but we'll see. He loves his new bike. He climbs over to it and tried to push it around. He just kicks his legs and says "ohhhh" as soon as he gets in. I think it will be a lot of fun this spring and summer!
We made a cake with M & M's on it for his birthday. He loves M & M's right now and they have been great motivation for him to use his signs for "want" and "more".
He of course did not want his cake this year, I was worried he wasn't going to eat any. He just looked at it and barely tried touching it and the texture was too much for him. So we gave him a pile of M & m"s instead and he was completely content with that.
